On May 18th, on the occassion of 2021 China Langfang Economic and Trade Fair in Hebei Province, Hebei Medical University and the National University of Ireland, Galway, successfully held the online signing ceremony of the MOU for Sino-Foreign cooperative education institution. Zhai Haihun, Party Secretary of the CPC HEBMU Committee, Feng Jun, Vice-president of HEBMU, Ciarán Ó hÓgartaigh, President of NUI, Galway, Becky Whay, Vice President, and the heads of relevant departments of the two universities attended the signing ceremony. The video conference was presided by Feng Jun,Vice President of HEBMU.
At the ceremony, Prof. Zhai andProf. Ciarán delivered speeches respectively to expressed their expectations for the in-depth cooperation in cooperative runningschools. In Prof. Zhai’s speech, he pointed out that the two universities have a deep friendship and solid foundation for cooperation. The two sides have various forms of exchanges and remarkable cooperation results. The Collaborative Postgraduate Education Programme in Basic Medicine (Regenerative Medicine) jointly declared by our two universitieswas officially approved by the Ministry of Education, representing a new step of cooperation. Prof. Zhai expressed his sincere gratitude to Prof. Ciarán, Prof. Becky, Prof. Timothy and Professor Shen. Prof. Zhai also said Hebei Medical University will increase support in terms of humanand financial resources to fully ensure the success of sino-foreign cooperative running institutions. Prof. Zhai sincerely hopes that both sides will take the ceremony as an opportunity to further expand the depth and scope of cooperation and jointly promote the development of medical education, medical care and health of people in China and Ireland. Finally, Prof. Zhai wishes the cooperation between the two sides a big success, and invites Prof. Ciarán and Prof. Becky to lead a delegation to visit our university at their convenient .
In Prof. Ciarán’s speech, thecooperation between the two sides benefited both teachers and students and thesuccess of cooperative program will further promote scientific research and talent training in regenerative medicine. He sincerely hopes that both sides can further strengthen exchange and cooperation in mutual visits, talent exchanges, scientific research and cultural exchanges. Prof. Ciarán believes that the signing ceremony will inject vitality and open up chancesin the cooperation between two universities. Finally, Prof. Ciarán invited Prof. Zhaito lead the delegation to visit NUIG again.
The signing ceremonyis an important achievement of 2021 China Langfang Economic and Trade Fair, which further expands international exchanges and cooperation between two universities. In the future, the two sides will strengthen international medical talents cultivation in biomedical field,research cooperation, promote humanity exchanges, and constantly achieve high-level cooperation outcomes, and make our contribution to jointly promote the development of medical education and people’s health in China and Ireland.
